The Blueprint for a Physically Active City
The Blueprint for a Physically Active City sets out a collective ambition for London – a London which can become the most physically active city in the world. It explores the foundations that make London special and unique, but also the serious challenges we face in the future: challenges around a changing population, new and different personal expectations, and new social trends; issues that concern health, transport and the economy as much as they do physical activity and sport.
The Blueprint for a Physically Active City isn’t just a framework for London Sport, but a framework for all of London, with the opportunity to exploit London’s strengths and mitigate its challenges. Endorsed by the Mayor of London and Sport England, the Blueprint for a Physically Active City established the framework around which Londo Sport’s strategy, focuses and commitments are developed. Since its initial launch in 2015 and refresh in 2017, the Blueprint has been adopted and referenced by numerous organisations and groups across London focused on supporting Londoners to become happier, healthier and more prosperous through physical activity and sport.

Celebrating the Blueprint for a Physically Active City
Doc Brown’s spoken word poem, composed for the second annual London Sport Awards, shows why we’re supporting 1,000,000 Londoners to become more physically active – one Londoner at a time.
