House of Sport opens, welcoming first residents

Today marks an exciting step in the future of sport in London, as we get ready to open the doors to the House of Sport.

Bringing together sport groups from across London and nationwide, House of Sport will help organisations to begin working more closely together; infusing ideas and innovation that supports shared collectives of getting more people physically active across the capital.

With the countdown well underway to September’s official opening, we are delighted to be getting underway in our new home.

Joining us from today will be three amazing organisations: Invictus Games Foundation, Sported Foundation and Street League. With more residents joining in the next few months, House of Sport promises to give physical activity and sport in the capital new impetus and new opportunities.

Ahead of moving in, here’s what they had to say:

Invictus Games Foundation
“Invictus Games Foundation is looking forward to being among like-minded sporting organisations that deliver important work to communities in London, across the UK, and around the world.” Rose Hall, Invictus Games Foundation.

Sported Foundation
“We’re here to work with more charities and organisations who have the same vision that we do” Dani Fairhurst, Sported Foundation.

Street League

“Street League is excited to join the House of Sport community to help increase collaboration and shared working, and be part of a vibrant group of organisations.” Melanie Davies, Street League.
