#LDNMovesMe to have adventures and to find out more about the city I live in, get to know people as well as explore how the city is constantly changing as it is never just the same. I like to get my trainers on, get out there and see what it has to offer!”

Julie Creffield speaking at our #LDNMovesMe Launch Event on the campaign at the Chainstore Parkour Academy.

Julie Creffield prides herself on not being your typical everyday runner. Her story began back in 2003 when she was invited to take part in a 3k fun run by a fellow colleague and realised her lack of fitness through struggling on the way around. Although she managed to complete this along with a Triathlon three months later, Julie still had an inconsistent diet and training plan. It wasn’t until she joined a running club and signed up for her first London Marathon that resulted in her making a true lifestyle change.

JC 3Julie started documenting her running career through her blog where she discusses everything from her latest runs, ‘how to guides’ and even the right type of active wear for plus sized women. Over the years, this blog has become a great place for like minded women to read, follow, share and engage with Julie’s story.

Since the creation of Too Fat to Run, Julie has not looked back, making soaring progress through various projects such as her blog, speaking as a guest at various health events and most notably creating the ‘Fat Girls Guide to Running’. She has several successful books and created 'The Clubhouse’ – the world’s only virtual running club for plus sized women that doubles as a support network for women across the world.

Julie has also had a key role in creating the first #OneBigFatRun a special 5k run for plus sized women to take part in virtually from across the world. Julie hopes that she can reach a target of 1,000,000 women running together.

Julie has been an incredible ambassador for her own work and a leader in breaking down societal stereotypes of ‘fat’ women taking part in physical activity. We are looking forward to seeing how she can support the #LDNMovesMe campaign and help us to find out how London moves you.
