London Sport is delighted to reveal the shortlist for this year’s London Sport Awards 2026, showcasing the inspiring individuals, projects and organisations improving lives through sport and physical activity across the capital.
Supported by the City of London Corporation, the Awards will take place on Wednesday 29 April, celebrating the city’s most outstanding contributions to grassroots sport and physical activity across ten categories, reflecting the breadth and diversity of work taking place across the city – from volunteering and workforce development to safeguarding, inclusion, environmental sustainability and long-term service to sport.
This year’s shortlist forms part of a particularly significant edition of the Awards, as 2026 marks the 10th anniversary of the London Sport Awards. The milestone event will once again be held at the iconic Guildhall in the City of London, bringing together the city’s sport and physical activity sector to recognise a decade of impact.
The 2026 ceremony will be hosted by London Sport Ambassador and Olympic sprinter and bobsledder Montell Douglas, also known as Fire from the BBC’s hit show Gladiators. Douglas will lead the celebrations and help honour those going above and beyond to help Londoners live healthier, more active lives.

The Safer Sport Award will celebrate best practice in safeguarding and the creation of safe, welcoming environments for people to be active, while the Environmental Sustainability Award will recognise initiatives that use sport and physical activity to protect the planet and / or demonstrate best practice in reducing environmental impact. These join eight returning categories, ensuring recognition across the full breadth of grassroots sport and physical activity in London.
