Network Overview
The way our city is designed, built, and managed directly impacts the health and activity levels of every Londoner. Working alongside Sport England and supported by The National Lottery, this network has been established to:
- Increase awareness of challenges faced in creating active environments.
- Connect like-minded individuals keen to drive change in London.
- Share best practice to support partners to overcome challenges and capitalise on opportunities.
- Identify opportunities for collaboration – influencing policy, attracting investment, raising awareness.
Network meetings are currently online on a quarterly basis; however, this can evolve based on network members’ preferences.
Access is open to all who are interested, but will be particularly relevant for:
- Heads of Leisure, Leisure operators and other service leads
- Landowners/Asset owners
- Built Environment professionals – Planners, Architects, Developers, Regeneration leads
- Policy Makers & System Partners
- Community Groups – e.g. Green Space & nature groups, Neighbourhood groups, Physical activity clubs, Active travel groups
We want this to be a community shaped and developed by partners across London. While our internal work on Active Environments is targeted around key areas, this network will be a broader space shaped by those who participate in it.
If you have any feedback or ideas for the network, please submit via this form.
London Sport will facilitate and administer the network, but it will be led by its members. To ensure this, we will have an external Chair for the network meetings.
