Nominations for London Sport Awards 2019 close

January 14, 2019

The London Sport Awards judging panel face a tough few weeks of deliberation after more than 300 nominations were submitted across the eight Award categories.

Entries for nominations closed on Sunday night with the vast majority of London boroughs having at least one entry covering their area of the capital.

The judging panel of industry experts covering everything from technology to public health to diversity will meet at Twickenham Stadium on January 31 to make their final decisions.

Each of the eight Awards categories will be whittled down to just three shortlisted entries who will be announced by London Sport in February.

The countdown to the London Sport Awards will then be well and truly on, with ticket holders gathering at the home of English rugby on 14 March to see which eight winners will be crowned.

About London Sport

London Sport is a not-for-profit organisation helping all Londoners live longer, healthier and happier lives through being active.

Part of a national network, we champion physical activity in London’s most deprived communities, sharing insights, influencing decision makers and allocating funding to effect change.

In some parts of the capital, people live 12 years longer in good health than others. With physical inactivity being one of the leading risk factors for preventable ill health, we want to help every Londoner find their way to move more.
