More About Us

Dan: Development Manager – London

My role focuses on developing our ‘pan-London’ approach to supporting organisations and groups across London. We work primarily with Local Authority colleagues, and the organisations they support, through localised physical activity networks to affect change.

The Core Services we deliver involve working in partnership to convene stakeholders, signpost opportunities for funding and resources, and connect colleagues to realise shared goals. Sharing insight and learning, from across London Sport’s Focus Areas and programmes, is fundamental to our work.

I have experience working in local authority sport & recreation services as well as local partnerships, having lived and worked in both the UK and New Zealand.

I like to stay active through football and hiking predominantly, and I’ve played some social Netball in the past too. Outside of physical activity, I love to cook, so if you have any recipe suggestions I am all ears!

Dan: Strategic Lead – Community Sport

I work as part of the team that supports the development of the Community Sport infrastructure in London. We do this by developing relationships with key community sport partners for example National Governing Bodies like the FA (Football Association), LTA (Lawn Tennis Association) or the RFU (Rugby Football Union). Our team aims to connect NGBs with local communities so that they can offer opportunities for Londoners of all ages and abilities to get involved in sport.

Before London Sport, I worked in Local Government for 10 years for mostly South London based local councils. I worked across a number of departments including Children’s and Adult’s Social Care, Transformation & Service Development and Special Educational Needs. In my final role in local government, I worked on the delivery of the Grenfell Recovery Strategy for the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea.

Outside of the office I enjoy watching and playing sport, board games, travel and music. A lot of my spare time is spent playing or coaching tag rugby and I play for Great Britain representing them in the last two World Cups in 2018 and 2023.

Miles: Development Manager – Southwark & Lewisham

Since joining London Sport, I’ve had the pleasure of contributing to our mission as a Project Officer, and now in my new role as Development Manager. What I love most about my role is the opportunity to work with and learn from such a diverse range of people.

Being based at the House of Sport is an added perk, where there’s always something fun going on—whether it’s joining weekly runs with colleagues or trying out new things like yoga and dance classes!

Outside of work, you’ll find me volunteering, experimenting in the kitchen (mostly making a mess!), and squeezing in as much sport as I can. I’m always up for a challenge, with my latest adventure being a long-distance triathlon.

Lucy: Head of Communications and Advocacy

No two days are the same in the Fundraising, Marketing and Communications team at London Sport. As Head of Communications and Advocacy, I work with a fantastic team on a range of areas including public relations, government affairs, events. website and social media channels. Some personal highlights for me include visiting projects that are making a real difference in their communities, such as the Lewisham CommUNITY Hub, and organising our flagship events, including the London Sport Awards and Active LDN.

I’m a lapsed runner, but enjoy the occasional 5k run with colleagues across House of Sport. I love starting everyday walking my dog, an adorable but mischievous beagle, and lifting weights has become a big part of my life since I started doing so a couple of years ago and saw huge health benefits. I have a passion for Pilates – I find it helps me with physical and mental strength – and I’m particularly keen on devoting some time to making it more accessible for all.
