With just one month to go, excitement is building for the London Sport Awards 2026, taking place on Wednesday 29 April at the iconic Guildhall.
Now in its 10th year, the Awards shine a spotlight on the individuals and organisations going above and beyond to improve lives through sport and physical activity across the capital. From grassroots clubs and volunteers to sector leaders and innovators, the evening will celebrate the passion, commitment and impact driving a more active, healthier London.
Celebrating impact across London
Supported by the City of London Corporation, this year’s event will bring together finalists, partners, policymakers and industry leaders for a night of celebration, connection and inspiration. The recently announced shortlist reflects the breadth and diversity of work happening across the city, from empowering young people and strengthening the workforce, to championing inclusion, sustainability and community impact. Finalists have been recognised across ten award categories, showcasing the many ways organisations and individuals are helping Londoners to be more active.
A pivotal moment for the sector
The Awards come at a pivotal moment for the sector. Last month, London Sport published its new manifesto ahead of the upcoming local elections, calling on borough leaders to work in partnership to tackle inactivity and embed physical activity into everyday life. With too many Londoners still facing barriers to being active, and inequalities continuing to impact health, wellbeing and opportunity, the manifesto sets out practical actions to drive change locally, from designing more active environments to strengthening community sport and placing physical activity at the heart of health and care.
Against this backdrop, the London Sport Awards provide a powerful reminder of what is already possible. The shortlisted individuals and organisations represent the very best of the sector, delivering real, tangible impact in communities and helping to address the challenges the manifesto seeks to overcome.
An evening of celebration
Hosting the evening will be London Sport Ambassador and Olympian Montell Douglas – also known to many as Fire from the BBC’s Gladiators. She will lead the celebrations and help honour those making a lasting difference across London.
Tickets for the London Sport Awards 2026 are now on sale, offering the chance to join finalists and sector leaders for an evening celebrating excellence, innovation and impact. Tickets are priced at £75 + VAT and are available to book now.
As the countdown begins, the London Sport Awards continue to highlight the vital role sport and physical activity play in strengthening communities, tackling inequalities and improving health and wellbeing across the capital.
