With just over one month to go until the London Sport Awards 2019, we’ll be focusing in on each of this year’s Award Categories to give you the inside track on each Award and the groups and people that are in the running.
The Workforce Award
As one of our original Award categories, the Workforce Award has a storied history – and a list of previous winners that covers some of the most recognisable names in community sport.
Created to recognise new and creative methods to developing and supporting the people that work to make community sport happen, the Workforce Award acknowledges that without the efforts of people from every walk of life, physical activity and sport simply wouldn’t happen.
The Award looks for those organisations that have helped to bring more people into working in sport – as coaches, as volunteers, as administrators and as officials – as well as projects that have helped to champion diversity in grassroots sport.
Lumina Energy
This year, the Workforce Award is presented in association with Lumina Energy.
Forming part of Kent County Council’s Commercial Services Group, Lumina Energy was established in 2012 to help businesses throughout the UK minimise energy spend and increase energy efficiency.
Over the years, the business has grown and expanded its service offering allowing a team of Energy Consultants to support a huge number of leisure and sports organisations with a wide-range of utility services; from gas, electricity and water procurement, through to additional services such as available capacity reviews, data collection and data aggregator services, and meter installations.
They also keep track of market and industry changes to help tailor the best possible energy solutions for their facilities and offer free energy advice to aid short and long-term needs.
