In light of the recent riots and political unrest, we recognise the profound impact that the threat of violence and racist abuse has had on the communities we serve and represent, in London and across the UK.
Like others from across the grassroots sport and physical activity sector, London Sport unequivocally condemns these acts. It not only undermines our values as an organisation, but it goes directly against our mission statement and vision: helping all Londoners live longer, healthier, happier lives through being active. There is no room in our society for such hatred and prejudice.
London’s strength is it’s diversity and we all reap the benefits of this– from the economic benefits for London’s businesses, to the music we listen to, the TV, film and theatre we watch, the food we eat, and the sport and physical activity that is available to us.
We strongly believe in championing the power of sport and physical activity to unite people from all backgrounds – not only in competition but how that transcends into everyday life. We are dedicated to fostering an inclusive society and we stand in solidarity with all those affected by these appalling acts. We want to express our unwavering support and commitment to ensuring that both our workplace and the work and projects we support are places where everyone feels safe, valued, and respected.
If you would like to discuss how best we can do this together, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

About London Sport
London Sport is a charity that exists to help ensure more Londoners live happier, healthier lives through access to sport and physical activity. Supported by Sport England and the Mayor of London, London Sport collaborates with those that share our vision, running and supporting projects that help children, young people and the least active adults to embed sport and physical activity into their lives.
