Project Overview
We are working across Brent to change this, with targeted action in three key areas in the south of the borough:
- St Raphael’s
- Church End
- Stonebridge
Alongside these target neighbourhoods, we work to unlock spaces and create opportunities for movement that benefit the wider Brent community.
In each area, we are collaborating with a wide range of partners as part of Brent Active Together – to build a more active, connected and healthier Brent – where movement is a joyful part of daily life for everyone.
Key partners include Brent Council, Jason Roberts Foundation, Sport at the Heart, TETH Youth & Adult Service, Public Health, NHS partners, National Governing Bodies (NGBs), school partnerships, charities and voluntary organisations.
Our work focuses on those most impacted by inactivity:
- Women and girls
- Families
- Older adults (ageing well)
Our Approach
We are building a long-term, community-led model for change through three key phases:
- Planning and Resourcing
- Implementation and delivery
- Sustainability and Embedding

WHAT’S NEW
Brent Active Together Core Working Group
The Brent Active Together Core Working Group (pictured) met at the iconic Wembley Stadium in May to build on the strong progress already being made across the borough.
Made up of partners from a range of local organisations, including local community organisations, education partnerships, public health and local authority colleagues and charities the group meets regularly to coordinate the delivery of the place-based work. Its key priorities are ensuring diverse representation across the system and empowering local residents to play a meaningful role in decision-making.
