Children and Young People are London’s future. Enabling them to enjoy the benefits of physical activity and sport from a young age is vital to growing the future health of the capital.

The Children and Young People Award recognises the outstanding work of individuals and organisations that help to enable more young people to build physically active lifestyles in London. Whether in school or outside of the curriculum, this Award celebrates those initiatives that are having the greatest impact on supporting young people to enjoy the benefits of sport in London.

Nomination Criteria

The Children and Young People Award celebrates individuals, organisations or projects that are helping more young people to take part in physical activity and sport in London.

Award nominees should be able to demonstrate:

  1. A creative approach to getting more children and young people involved in physical activity and sport and/or reducing levels of inactivity among young people
  2. A positive impact on the lives, health and wellbeing of children and young people
  3. An ability to increase the proportion of young people from under-represented groups taking part in regular physical activity and/or sport
  4. An ability to integrate regular physical activity into daily routines for young people who were previously inactive
