At London Sport, we’re on a mission to help Londoners live longer, healthier, and happier lives.
We do this by supporting our sector and those who face the greatest barriers to being active – children and adults in London’s most deprived communities.
Now, as we edge closer to Christmas (50 days to go – not that we’re counting!), we know that people living in these communities often face even more challenges. The winter months bring not just the cold, but extra stress too.
At London Sport, we’re committed to making a difference, it’s literally why we get out of bed every morning. So, we decided to practice what we preach and get active ourselves this December.
On 02 December, six brave London Sport staff will take part in the Santa in the City fun run. It’s a 4k route through central London, and our plan is simple: run, jog, walk, or hobble our way round. Each participant gets a full-on Santa suit, great for warmth, great for anonymity!
We’re doing this for a few reasons:
- To raise awareness of the brilliant work our charity does
- To raise vital funds so we can keep doing it
- And most importantly, to show that physical activity can take many forms!
We’re not chasing personal bests or showing off the latest kit. We’ll just be out there together, having fun on a Tuesday evening in the heart of London, proving that moving your body, in any way, really counts.
If that sounds like your kind of festive fun, we have discounted places available for the Santa in the City runs on Wednesday 3rd and Thursday 4th December, both starting at 7pm. It’s a great way to celebrate the season with colleagues, friends, or family (and you’ll look fantastic in red).

And remember: if Santa can do it, you can too! 🎅
