Ilaria Biancacci

Ilaria’s journey towards the London Marathon 2024 is fuelled by a deep-rooted belief in breaking down barriers and lifting others. As a dedicated advocate for inclusivity, she not only embodies this philosophy in her work at Decathlon but also through her platform Wempower, empowering young female journalists. Ilaria’s marathon dream was born on the sidelines of a chilly October day at the London Marathon, where she made a promise to herself and her mother. Despite not being an avid runner initially, joining a running club at work in January 2023 transformed her perception. Through each race milestone, Ilaria experienced the power of community and the resilience within herself. Now, gearing up for the London Marathon, Ilaria invites others to join her in championing inclusivity, promoting health, and empowering communities. Together, they aim to make a difference, one stride at a time.

With every step, Ilaria is not just running a marathon; she’s running for a cause close to her heart. Her journey symbolises the collective effort to make sports accessible to everyone, regardless of background or circumstance. Through her dedication and determination, Ilaria inspires us all to break down barriers and lift each other up, one stride at a time.
