The London Sport Insight Team have developed a guide to support applications to the Sport England Tackling Inactivity and Economic Disadvantage Fund. Find more information and a link to the resource below:

Sport England’s Tackling Inactivity and Economic Disadvantage fund is designed to support inactive people who have little income and economically disadvantaged. This group make up a third of the population in England aged 16 to 74 – 14.6 million people.

The Tackling Inactivity and Disadvantage Fund is about more than getting people active, it is about using physical activity and sport to improve lives and communities.

Physical activity and sport is an extremely powerful tool to support positive social change for communities and individuals, Sport England want potential partners to provide evidence as to how they can do this. For example, this might mean using physical activity or sport to improve mental wellbeing, help drive down crime rates in an area, or reduce social isolation.

Funding bids are welcome from sport and non-sport organisations with wide reach into their communities and the individuals targeted by the fund. Funding pots are split into two themes with 5% of the total funding reserved for smaller project bids between £1,000 and £10,000.
