London Sport are delighted to have a multi-year partnership with Chipotle Mexican Grill which will see the global healthy-eating restaurant company support London Sport’s vision of getting London more active.

The London Sport/Chipotle Partnership

Chipotle are proud to back London Sport’s pledge to champion grassroots sport across the capital. Throughout our partnership, we’ll be aligning our mission of getting Londoners more active and Chipotle’s aim to offer of Real Food for Real Athletes.

As part of our partnership, we’ve launched the Chipotle Community Champion, see below, and Chipotle are sponsorsing The Enhancing the Workforce Award at the London Sport Awards for the second year in a row. 

Chipotle Community Champion

London Sport is working alongside Chipotle Mexican Grill to find the capital’s physical activity and community sport heroes. From coaches to administrators to volunteers making refreshments, London is full of people who put all their energy and passion into the physical activity and sport sector.

Their work makes a huge difference to the health and well-being of Londoners, they deserve a moment in the spotlight. That’s why each month we recognised someone who works in the physical activity and sport sector in London.

Richard White – Ballers Academy

He is a Community Director at Ballers Community and together with his team Richard provides regular sport and physical activity sessions.

He ensures that all the people can exercise to the best of their abilities and have fun.  

“I have a passion to be able to provide free weekly community sports activities for people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds in the London borough of Southwark.”

Ashley Marshalleck – Queen Mary University of London Students’ Union
 

Ash oversees the QMSU Community Foundation which provides sport leadership and workforce development opportunities for students at Queen Mary University. 

He ensures that students are able to have a positive impact in the community and that resulted in the creation of new programmes such as the Young Leaders Academy and Social Cohesion Sport Programme. 

These opportunities have provided a platform for student groups to design and deliver projects that use sport as a vehicle to raise awareness of issues in the local community such as obesity, inactivity, gang culture and discrimination.

Louis Wickett-Padgham – Southwark Stars Disability Football Club

He is the founder of Southwark Stars Disability Football Club for men and women with learning disabilities.

He delivers training and matches, raises awareness of disability football and most importantly – supports further opportunities for disabled people to be connected to their community.

Southwark Stars is successfully growing their squad and winning tournaments, appearing in England Football Team promotional videos and playing exhibition matches for the Women’s European Championship all led and developed by him.

Shannia Richardson Gordon – Power Mobile Gym

Shannia Richardson Gordon is the Founder and Director of Power Mobile Gym. She is committed to inspiring, empowering, and positively impacting the lives of many young people. 

Power Mobile Gym is a non-profit organisation that unites communities through boxing with  the company’s ethos “each one should teach one.” In just over a year, she has positively influenced the lives of over 1000 young people through free boxing sessions, CV-building and personal development workshops, and career advice. 

Shannia usually works with young people between the ages of 11 and 24 who are at risk of becoming victims of childhood poverty, youth crime, or youth isolation, ensuring their participation in all of her projects and providing a variety of opportunities.

Jaden Cameron – Balham FC

 

Jaden is the head of foundation phase at Balham FC. He is an inspirational coach who has been with the club since the age of 16. Now only 25, and a father of two, his commitment to the foundation years at the club is remarkable. 

Jaden coaches young children every week and also mentors new coaches who come through the ranks at the club. Despite his younger years, some of the players he coached in his early days are now first team players and often lean on Jaden for advice. His passion for coaching and helping others is infectious.

Aaron Barnett-Clarke – Maroon Fitness

Aaron is the founder and Head Trainer of Maroon Fitness. Maroon Fitness was started during the first Covid-19 lockdown in 2020. The goal was to give back to the local community by uplifting people’s spirits and morale through daily fitness classes.

Maroon Fitness is now an established community fitness group that mixes a range of group exercises and physical activities. Aaron strives to provide new opportunities to people that they may not have previously had access to due to social or economic reasons, encouraging attendees to maintain and improve physical and mental wellbeing.

Angel Rivelles – Battleground London

Angel is the founder and Head Coach of Battleground London. Through sport and physical activity, Battleground London brings men and women together to make a true difference in mental and physical wellbeing. 

Angel also works to help people overcome and suppress Aphephobia. Having already trained hundreds of people in Hyde Park, Angel is committed to making a difference and getting people active.  

Angel shows a dedication to and passion for helping others develop their mental and physical wellbeing and has gone above and beyond to help people overcome phobias that are barriers to exercise.

Ioan Nascu – Prometheus Combat

 

Ioan is an Olympic wrestling coach at Prometheus combat where he creates opportunities for refugees who want to take part in the sport and spearheads the Women Wrestle campaign.  

When he is not doing this, he is also a competitor and referee, and sits on the diversity working group at British Wrestling. 

Ioan shows a dedication to and passion for Olympic wrestling and has gone above and beyond to bring others into the sport. 

The London Sport Bowl

As part of the partnership, London Sport are delighted to see Chipotle launch The London Sport Bowl and it’s now available in even more locations across the capital.

The London Sport Bowl is the perfect healthy option for active Londoners whether they’ve just taken their first step into activity or participate regularly in sport or physical activity.

The London Sport Bowl launched in January 2020 and is available from all Chipotle restaurants in London (find one near to you here) as well as on Deliveroo and Uber Eats.
