Throughout May, we ran a competition with our partners easyfundraising to offer clubs, projects or schools the chance to win a free £100 bonus donation when they signed up to easyfundraising and made their first purchase on the London Sport landing site.
After an impressive number of entries, we can now reveal our winner…
A huge well done to the team and supporters at Bright Stars Youth FC who have won our easyfundraising competition. By collecting free donations for their club when their members shopped online, the club entered the draw and won a £100 donation courtesy of easyfundraising.
Bright Stars Youth FC was established in 2015 to provide football training in East London to young boys and girls aged 6-14. The club is run by Coach Wuga Birabe, a former semi professional football player whose passion for the game has led him to want to provide opportunities to young children to get involved and grow the same love for the sport.
Wuga said:
“I appreciate what easyfundraising are doing to help support community grassroots clubs like Bright Stars Youth FC to raise funds for good causes to increase participation and help keep young people active. I will definitely recommend other community clubs, football clubs, karate club and gymnastic clubs and other organisations to use easyfundraising to raise funds for good causes in our community.”
Having coached in East London since 2014, Coach Wuga has witnessed the hardship faced by young children and their families to be able to afford participating in sport. Often, children who have a real passion for football and being amongst other children in a fun and friendly environment are forced to drop out as parents are unable to afford the cost involved in attending such sessions.
