London Sport is pleased to announce that our Chief Executive, Emily Robinson, has joined the London Partnership Board.
Co-chaired by the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, and the Chair of London Councils, Cllr. Georgia Gould, the Board convenes industry leaders from across London to discuss the key challenges facing London today, providing strategic advice to policy and decision makers.
The London Partnership Board was recently established and evolved from the work of the London Recovery Board during the COVID-19 pandemic. It will continue to oversee the key workstreams established under its previous form but will also focus on emerging challenges that Londoners are now faced with in light of the cost-of-living crisis.
As part of the Board, Emily will continue to champion the role of sport and physical activity in helping Londoners live longer, healthier and happier lives. She will also use the platform of the Board to leverage activity as a tool to aid other sectors and priority issues, including health, housing, education, and climate change.
By working together, it is hoped that the pertinent issues facing London will be met with innovative and creative solutions to drive the capital forward.
Emily Robinson said:
“With physical inactivity responsible for 1 in 6 premature deaths, it is vital that we work together to tackle the challenges of inequality and inactivity across London. I am looking forward to collaborating with other members of the London Partnership Board to address some of the capital’s greatest challenges and safeguard the long-term health of the capital”.
Emily will be sharing insights, queries and concerns from across the sport and physical activity sector with the London Partnership Board. If you would like to share anything with the Board via Emily, please email [email protected].
