Sport Tech Hub and London Sport announced as Supporting Partners
Announced today by Sadiq Khan, the Mayor of London, the new Civic Innovation Challenge is an initiative that matches start-ups and SMEs with leading corporates and public organisations to solve some of the city’s biggest challenges. Aimed at addressing three significant challenges – climate change, inequality, and ageing population – the Mayor’s Civic Innovation Challenge is about using tech to improve life for Londoners, grow the economy, and give tech start-ups the opportunities to test innovation directly with their market; applications are open now at http://civicinnovation.london
Sport Tech Hub and London Sport are delighted to be acting as a Supporting Partner to this new flagship innovation programme for London, and working to support two challenges set by Hackney Council and Ealing Council. The challenges focus on how technology can use sport to tackle social isolation and get people active – backed by the London Boroughs of Hackney and Ealing – and form part of the Mayor’s ambition to make London the most active and socially integrated city in the world.
We believe that technology and innovation have a fundamental role to play in helping Londoners to live happier, healthier and better-connected lives through physical activity and sport. The Mayor’s Civic Innovation Challenge represents an exciting opportunity for tech innovators to address the real challenges that face London now and in the future.

Interested start-ups and SMEs have until 23.59 on Sunday 8 July to apply, ahead of shortlisting that will take place in September 2018.
