If you’re still thinking about whether or not to join the community sport sector for next week’s London Sport Awards, we’ve got five reasons why you should say ‘yes’.
There are so many reasons to be in the room for the London Sport Awards – it’s an event not to miss for anyone with any affiliation to physical activity and sport in the capital at any level.
You may be a policy maker looking for inspiration for your next project, a volunteer giving countless hours to help children, teenagers or adults get more active and wanting to meet like-minded people, or you might work for a company keen to make London a healthier, happier city for the future.
Whatever your background, here’s just a few of the best reasons you have to get a ticket to Twickenham Stadium for 14 March before they’re all gone.
Inspirational winners and shortlisted nominees
All our shortlisted nominees are making a real and significant impact on the lives of Londoners using the power of physical activity and sport.
Discover more about each nominee and the change they’re creating through sport throughout the evening. And, of course, find out who’s going home with the eight coveted London Sport Award trophies.
Fantastic host and speakers
Sky Sports broadcaster and journalist Jessica Creighton will be our host for the evening providing a steady and experienced hand on proceedings.
Jessica will be joined on stage by the energetic Danny Bent, founder of Project Awesome London and former London Sport Award winner Beth Towle.
Beth was part of the team which won The Workforce Award last year in her role with the Palace for Life Foundation and will be speaking about co-founding South London Laces.
Networking opportunities
The Awards isn’t just the biggest celebration of sport in London; it’s also a great opportunity to network with people making a difference at every level of grassroots sport across the capital.
Conversations over dinner at half-time or networking over pre-match drinks; there’s plenty of business leaders, coaches, policy makers and volunteers to partner with and help get Londoners more active.
Great value for money
Tickets for the Awards are still available and, on top of everything else, offer a great night out at a great price.
In addition to small bites during our drinks reception, we’ve introduced dinner to the Awards for the first time and there’s amazing prizes to be won thanks to the RFU Injured Players Foundation.
Iconic London venue
Twickenham Stadium always looks it’s best for the Six Nations and we’ve got access to some of their most exclusive spaces for the Awards.
Enjoy a view across the hallowed turf from the President’s Suite during the pre-match drinks and take in the history that comes with being at the home of English Rugby.
And we want you to dress for the occasion, and venue, bringing back our Black Tie and Trainers theme which was a fantastic success at last year’s Awards.
