Sport Tech Hub Demo Day to showcase success from cohort one

Sport Tech wearable and device showing basketball match

22nd March 2018

Since the launch of The Sport Tech Hub in late 2017,  a host of SportTech start-ups have benefited from the programme and on Wednesday 28 March we’ll showcase and celebrate their successes at a Demo Day event at Fieldfisher.

Why was the Sport Tech Hub launched?

  • To provide direct, targeted and tailored support to early-stage start-ups dedicated to enhancing engagement in physical activity and sport among Londoners and people across the UK
  • To strengthen the foundations of the SportTech vertical and showcase the role of publicly-funded sport sector bodies in supporting digital innovation

After a bespoke 24 week incubation programme focused on business, product, investment readiness and physical activity and sport industry knowledge and connections, our start-ups give short pitches to mentors, investors, accelerators, incubators and connections from the wider sport and tech ecosystems in London.

By focusing explicitly on innovation specifically targeting increases in physical activity participation, the programme provides a targeted route to filling gaps in the physical activity and sport market. Here’s how some of the first cohort found the programme:

London Sport’s Tech Hub has been instrumental in helping us shape our product, from original concept to a sports and fitness marketplace platform. Access to investors, industry experts and sports governing bodies made possible by the interaction of the London Sport team has been invaluable. Sports and fitness start-ups with ambitious plans should start their journey with the Sport Tech Hub”. Daragh Donohoe, Co-Founder, SPRYT

The Sport Tech Hub programme has been invaluable to us, particularly, the wide range of workshops tailored for us, hand selected mentors, providing commercial guidance and most of all, the business introductions.’’ David Brownlee, Founder, TrainAsONE

What will the Demo Day include?

The demo day will include an afternoon of updates and pitches from the cohort one start-ups about their milestones, products and futures, as well as a chance to get hands on with the technology, demos & apps from: UK WallballSWEAT & SOUNDFlexWeGymTrainAsONEFitswarmRacefullySpottersSPRYTSport HeroesRabbleMakesweat, BATFAST
