New Funding Search Tool launches to help sector secure investment

New digital platform launches with over 350 grants open to physical activity and sport organisations

As part of wider strategic initiative to support grassroots sport organisations, London Sport is excited to announce the launch of a new Funding Search Tool for physical activity and sport in London.

The new platform, http://funding.londonsport.org, has been designed to support organisations from across the physical activity and sport sector in their efforts to identify and secure new investment and ultimately grow the scope and effectiveness of physical activity and sport in London.

The London Sport Funding Search Tool is the first digital platform that focuses specifically on physical activity and sport for London and, at launch, has information on grants totalling over £17,000,000 of potential funding opportunities. The tool replaces the current monthly funding bulletin; fully digitising this service is one example of London Sport’s drive to utilise technology to simplify the sector for new and existing partners.

Commenting on the launch of the Funding Search Tool, Caroline Brooks, Funding and Facilities Manager, London Sport, said:

I am thrilled that the London Sport Funding Search Tool is now live. One of the key challenges facing the physical activity and sport sector is in securing investment, and this tool is specifically designed to help organisations to find the right funding at the right time for them. By creating a fully searchable digital platform, we have been able to instantly open up new routes and opportunities for all physical activity and sport providers across the capital. We now look forward to supporting organisations in their use of the Funding Search Tool, helping to bring new and additional investment into the sector.

The Funding Search Tool follows the launch of London Sport’s Insight and Data Portal earlier in 2016. Together, these tools will provide a valuable resource for the initial grant search stage and the development of applications for funding using up-to-date evidence curated by our Insight Team.
